Whatever your interest, we welcome new members, so if you have ever thought about taking up singing as your hobby we would love to hear from you. You don't need to be the new Pavarotti! You just need to make a reasonably pleasant sound and be able to hold a tune!
We know how hard it can be coming to your first rehearsal, so if you would like, we will arrange for you to be paired up with a buddy to help you settle in.
You won't be asked to do a formal audition to join the chorus but the Musical Director may ask you to sing a few lines in private to check your voice range and place you in the right part of the chorus. Don't worry - this will only happen after you've had a chance to settle into the society. We sing a range of pieces from full four-part harmonies to unison melodies and simpler tunes for audience participation.
If you'd like to be part of the society but would rather not sing, then we always need people to help out with front of house, refreshments, playing the piano and all the other essential things that help the society to function.
First rehearsal is free, approximately £5 per session afterward.
Rehearsal facilities: the Stony Stratford Methodist Hall is heated, with suitable conveniences, but we are asking all members and visitors to bring their own refreshments rather than using communal facilities for the time being. Please bring a mask or other face covering when moving through indoor spaces, if concerned.
